The Simpsons(TM) 500thepisode commemorated with conversion of classic coin-op Konami Digital EntertainmentGmbH, in partnership with Gracie Films and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, today announced that The Simpsons(TM) Arcade Game is available for Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. In The Simpsons(TM) Arcade Game, users play as their favorite Simpsons character in a chase after Smithers and Mr. Burns and an epic quest to save Maggie, as original arcade game makes its downloadable debutfeaturing four-player online and offline cooperative play.Featuring eight classic Springfield locations, players can participate in several different game modes, each providing a different gameplay experience. Quarters Mode recreates the feeling of the original coin-op classic for a more challenging experience; Survival Mode tests players' skills with only one life at their disposal; and Free Play Mode provides players with unlimited Continues for a more casual experience. The conversion also includes the Japanese version of The Simpsons(TM) Arcade Game, which features new weapons, higher scoring and a slightly different ending. This version of the game has never been released outside of Japan and is a different take on the beloved classic. As an added bonus, fans can view classic flyers and posters specifically made for the game back in 1991. Developed by Backbone Entertainment, The Simpsons(TM) Arcade Gamewill also be available on the PlayStation®Network for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on February 8th. This will coincide with the airing of The Simpsons(TM) historic 500th episode on Sunday, February 19thin the US. The game is now available for download on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft Points, and will be available on February 8th for the PlayStation®Networkfor 9,99 Euro.
